What you’ll do

In Morocco the hammam is first and foremost a place of everyday life: people wash, meet and rest there. Our partner, Dar Nour, restored a neighbourhood hammam while keeping its vaults and zellige, with separate areas for men and women and a couples’ room.

The ritual

  1. Steam bath in the hot room to open the pores.
  2. Eucalyptus black soap applied all over.
  3. Kessa scrub, the glove that removes dead skin — vigorous but never painful.
  4. Rhassoul mask, clay from the Atlas, on body and hair.
  5. Massage of 30 minutes (Traditional ritual) or 60 minutes (Royal ritual) with argan oil.
  6. Relax in the lounge with mint tea and pastries.

The Royal ritual adds a facial and an orange-blossom final rinse. Natural products, towels, disposable underwear and sandals are provided.
