What you’ll do

This is the journey everyone pictures when they think of the Sahara: the great orange dunes of Erg Chebbi, a camel caravan at sunset and a night under the stars. In three days from Marrakech, the tour links the finest landscapes of the south.

Day 1 — Marrakech → Dadès Valley

The Tichka pass, a guided visit of Aït Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, then the road of a thousand kasbahs through Skoura and the Valley of Roses. Dinner and overnight in a hotel above the Dadès Gorges.

Day 2 — Dadès → Merzouga

A walk through the Todra Gorges and their 300-metre cliffs. Across Tinejdad and Erfoud, arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon. A sunset camel ride to camp in the heart of the dunes: dinner, Berber drums and a starry sky.

Day 3 — Merzouga → Marrakech

Sunrise from a dune crest, breakfast and a camel ride back. The long drive home through the Ziz Valley and over the Tichka, arriving in Marrakech around 8 pm.

Shared or private

The daily departure travels by minibus (17 seats) with travellers from around the world. In a private 4x4 you choose your stops, can add a night or end in Fes. Deluxe and luxury tents available as upgrades.

FAQ

Is it cold at night in the desert?

From October to March it can drop close to 0 °C. Tents have thick blankets, but bring a warm layer.

Can the tour end in Fes?

Yes, on the private tour: day 3 takes you to Fes via Midelt and the cedar forests of Azrou.

How long on the camel?

About 1.5 hours going out and 1 hour back. You can also reach camp by 4x4.

Why is the price lower in summer?

In July and August the heat is intense; we reduce the price and adapt the schedule to travel in cooler hours.
